so adding the first equation add second equation then it will be (5y-4x)+(2y+4x)=7+14

5y-4x+2y+4x=21

7y=21

then y 21/7=3

so y=3

now putting the value of y in equation 1

so

5y-4x=-7

5*3-4x=-7

15-4x = -7

-4x = -7-15

-4x=-22

x=-22/-4 = 5.5

x=5.5
