4b-7b=3

a=2/3b

1/x-y=b

1/x-y=-1

x-y = -1---[2]

adding [1] & [2]

we get 2x = -3/2 -1

=-5/2

hence x=-5/4

y=1+x

=1 +[-5/4]

=-1/4
