Solution

Given linear equation are

2x+3y=12.......i and

x-2y=-1......ii

multiplying eqn ii by 2 we get

2x-4y=-2.......iii

Subracting eqn i from ii

2x+3y=12

2x-4y=-2

7y = 14

so y = 2

substituting value of y in eqn ii

x-2y=-1

or x-2.2 = -1

so x = 3

therefore x=3 and y=2
