Solution :-

Given ,

  • Force = 100N
  • Force acts on a rigid body , perpendicular distance between the force and the point = 50cm

Here the distance is given in cm unit . So , now converting into S.I. unit . Now , 50cm = 50/100 m = 5/10 = 1/2 = 0.5 m

Now, as we know that ,

Moment of force = Force × Perpendicular distance

Moment of force = 100 × 0.5

→ Moment of force = 100 × 1/2

Moment of force = 50 Nm

Hence, the moment of force = 50 Nm

➥ This question says that a force of 100N acts on a rigid body such that the perpendicular distance between the force and the turning point is 50 cm. We have tl calculate the moment of force.

\: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \:{\large{\bold{\sf{\underbrace{Given \; that}}}}}

➥ Force = 100N

➥ Force act on a rigid body such that the perpendicular distance between the force and the turning point = 50 cm = 0.5 m

Note : We change it because as we see that the unit is given in cm but always we have to convert it into it's SI unit. That's why,

➸ 1 m = 100 cm

So,

➸ 1 cm = 1/100 m

➸ 50/100 m

➸ 0.5 m

~ Finding moment

➸ Moment = Force × Perpendicular distance

➸ Moment = 100 × 0.5

➸ Moment = 50Nm

  • Henceforth, the moment of the force is 50Nm
