Answer:

first we will see triangle ABD. to find side AB

now , by phytagoras theorem.

AB² = AD ² + BD²

AD = √ 16² + 12 ²

AD = √ 256 + 144

AD = 20

Therefore AB = 20 CM.

NOW , in tri ABC , WE will prove weather it is a right angle triangle by phytagoras theorem.

AC² = AB ² + BC ²

AC = √ 48² + 20²

AC = √2304 + 400

AC =√ 2704

AC = 52 .. ( AC is 52 in qst.. )

now ,

in tri. ABD area = to

ar ( ABD ) = 96 CM ²

Again

in tri ABC ,

ar ( ABC ) = 384 CM ²

Therefore , area of shaded region

ar ( ABC ) - ar (ABD)

384 - 96 = 288

area shaded region is 288 cm 2
