1: A family buys 17/5 metres, 10/3 metres and 21/8 metres of clothes for three dresses.
a) How much cloth did the family buy in all?
b) If the cloth came from a 20- metre roll of cloth, what length of cloth was left in the roll?

2: Mrs Seth filled 10t litres of petrol in her car on Monday. That day the car used 10/3 litres of petrol, and on Tuesday it used 9/2 litres of petrol.
a) How much petrol did the car used on these two days.?
b) Out of the petrol bought on Monday, how much petrol was left at the end of Tuesday?
