1. Puberty is the period where the physical characteristics matures. This change occurs due to the hormonal changes in the body. In female, they go through monthly cycles, the height increases and also the hips turn wider whereas in male they grow beard, the voice changes and the width of shoulders also increase. Whereas, adolescence is the period that  occurs between adulthood and puberty in the teenage years. Adolescence also affect mental health and the person going through it thinks and behaves like an adult. Adolescence in human being is considered to be from the age of 13 to 19.

2. The pituitary gland is also known as master gland due to it's endocrine system. It controls the function of several endocrine glands. The pituitary gland is as small as a pea in size and is found at the bottom base of the brain. This gland is connected to the hypothalamus with the help of nerves and several blood vessels.
