Step-by-step explanation:

6 a) Radius of bigger circle= 14 cm

Radius of smaller circle= 7 cm

     Area of bigger circle= 22/7× 14

                                        = 44 cm²

      Area of smaller circle= 22/7 × 7

                                          = 22 cm²

      Area of shaded portion= 44 cm² - 22 cm²

                                             = 22 cm²

6 b) Radius of circle = 10 cm

      Area of circle = 22/7×10

                              = 220/7

                              = 31.41 cm²

       Area of triangle= 1/2×12×16

                                 = 96 cm²

       Area of shaded portion= 96 cm² -  31.41 cm²

                                              = 64.59 cm²

6 c) As breadth of the rectangle is 8 cm, its length would be 16 cm. explained as follows:-

  • 8 cm is breadth of rectangle and also the diameter of the circle.
  • Vertically also the diameter will remain the same.
  • As there are 2 circles then the diameter of both will also be double.
  • So the length will be 16 cm

     Area of rectangle = 16×8

                                   = 128 cm²

     Area of 2 circles = 22/7×4

                               = 88/7

                               = 12.56 cm² × 2

                               = 25.12 cm²

     Area of shaded portion= 128 cm² - 25.12 cm²

                                            = 102.88 cm²

6 d) Area of bigger semicircle = 22/7×7÷2            (÷ 2 bcoz its half of a circle)

                                                  = 11 cm²

Area of smaller semicircle = 22/7×3.5÷2

                                                   = 5.5 cm²

Area  of shaded portion = 11 cm² - 5.5 cm²

                                               = 5.5 cm²
