Acceleration=5ms^-2

Time1 = 8 seconds

By usind first equation of motion, we get

V=40 ms^-1

Since this moment, the car moves with constant velocity,therefore by using third equation of motion, we get

S=ut

S(distance)1 = 40 × (12-8)

= 160 metres

By again using third equation of motion to find the distance travelled while being constantly accelerated, we get

S(distance)2= 1÷2(at^2)

=1÷2 × (5 × 8 × 8)

160 metres

Total distance = S1 + S2

=160 + 160

320 metres

Hope this helped you.
