ANSWER:

  • There is no value of x and y satisfy the both equation.

GIVEN:

  • 3x+4y = 12
  • 6x+8y = 20

TO FIND:

  • Value of 'x'and 'y'.

SOLUTION:

=> 3x+4y = 12 .....(i)

Muntiplying both sides by 2

=> 2(3x+4y) = 12×2

=> 6x+8y = 24.

=> 6x+8y = 20

Muntiplying both sides by 1.

=> 6x+8y = 20 .....(ii)

Subtracting eq (I) from (ii)

=> (6x+8y)-(6x+8y) = 20-24

=> 0 ≠ -4

There is no value of x and y satisfy the both equation.

NOTE:

  • This method of finding the value of 'x'and 'y' is called elimination method.
