I couldn't understand if the x was in numerator or denominator so I did them in both ways

Taking x in denominator:

$\displaystyle\frac{8}{3x}=16$

$8=16\times 3x$

$48x=8$

$x=\displaystyle\frac{8}{48}=\displaystyle\frac{1}{6}$

Taking x in numerator:

$\displaystyle\frac{8x}{3}=16$

$8x=16\times3$

$8x=48$

$x=\displaystyle\frac{48}{8}=6$
