 \frac{x - 1}{x - 2}   +  \frac{4x}{x + 1}  = 5

 =  >  \:  \:  \frac{(x - 1)(x + 1)  \: + \: (x - 2)(4x) }{(x - 2)(x + 1)}  = 5

 =  >  \:  \frac{ {x}^{2}  - 1 + 4 {x}^{2}  - 8x}{ {x}^{2}  - 2x + x - 2}  = 5

 =  >  \:  \frac{5 {x}^{2}  - 8x - 1}{ {x}^{2}  - x - 2}  = 5

 =  >  \:  5 {x}^{2}  - 8x - 1 = 5 {x}^{2}  - 5x - 10

 =  >  \:  - 8x - 1 =  - 5x - 10

 =  >  \:  - 1 + 10 =  - 5x + 8x

 =  >  \: 3x = 9

 =  >  \: x =  \frac{9}{3}

so... \:  \:  \:  x = 3
