Step-by-step explanation:

let the present age of A and B be x and y respectively.

1) According to the question.

x-4/y-4=7:5

x+6/y+6=19:15

2)x-4/y-4=7:5

5x-20=7y-28

5x-7y=-8-(1)

3) x+6/y+6=19:15

15x+90=19y+144

15x-19y=54-(2)

4)By elimination method

multiply EQ 1 by 3

now subtract the equations

15x-21y=-24 and 15x-19y=54

-2y=-78

y=39

putting value of y in EQ 1

5x-7(39)=-8

5x=-8+273

x=265/5

x=53
