2y° = (5x-20)° (vertically opposite angles) (1)
also,

(5x-20)° = (3x+40)° (exterior angles)

5x - 3x = 40 +20
2x = 60

x = 60/2
 \bold{ \boxed{x = 30°}}

put x=30 in (1)

2y = 30×5 - 20

2y = 150-20

y = 130/2

 \bold{ \boxed{y = 65°}}

upper angle is 130°
