The solution of equations are \bf x = 3 and \bf y = 4 \\

Given:

  • 2x + y = 10...eq1 \\ and x + y = 7...eq2 \\

To find:

  • Solve the equations Graphically.

Solution:

Step 1:

Find atleast two points in eq1.

y = 10 - 2x \\

put x= 0

y = 10

One point is (0,10)

Put x=4

y = 10 - 8 \\

or

y = 2 \\

Another point is (4,2)

One more point (5,0)

Draw the straight line while joining these points.

Step 2:

Find atleast two points in eq2.

y = 7 - x \\

put x= 0

y = 7

One point is (0,7)

Put y=0

x=7 \\

Another point is (7,0)

Draw the straight line while joining these points.

*Graph of lines is attached.

Step 3:

Intersection of lines is the solution of eqs.

Thus,

\bf x = 3 and \bf y = 4 \\ is the solution.
