Given
x^2-5X+λ
a=1, b=-5, c=λ

α-β=1      (given)------------eq 1

sum of zeroes= -b/a= -(-5)/1=5
α+β=5----------------------eq2

from eq 1 &2
α-β=1
α+β=5

2α=5+1
2α=6
α=6/2=3
put this value in eq. 2

α+β=5
3+β=5
β=5-3=2

product of zeroes=c/a=λ/1
αβ=λ/1
3*2=λ/1
6=λ/1
λ=6
The value of λ =6
