x/2+y=4/5

(x+2y)/2=4/5

5(x+2y)=4*2

5x+10y=8.....i

Again,

x+y/2=7/10

(2x+y)/2=7/10

10(2x+y)=7*2

20x+10y=14.....ii

Now,

Subtracting equation ii from i,

5x + 10y = 8

20x + 10y = 14

-       -           -

____________

-15x=6

x= - 6/15

 = - 2/5

Again, in equation i,

5x+10y=8

5*(-2/5) +10y=8

-2+10y=8

10y=8+2

y=10/10

y=1

anonlocalthito: Oh sorry...
anonlocalthito: The answer is wrong....The value of x should be negative but I mistook and wrote positive.
DrStudy: If procedure is correct no problem
anonlocalthito: So sweet of you to say that.. :)
