let the correct answer be 'x'

let the incorrect answer be 'y'

in case-I                                            in case-II

2x-y=90                                             x+y=60

By elimination method

multiplying case-II by 2:-

2x-y=90            ==============> 2x-y=90

              (changing signs)(putting - sign in the whole equation)

2x+2y=120         ==============> -2x-2y= -120

then we get

-3y=-30

y=10

putting y=10 in case II we get

x+y=60

x+10=60

x=60-10

x=50

HOPE IT HELPS YOU:)
