Let the height of the tower be AB.

We have.

AC = 5m, AD = 20m

Let the angle of elevation of the top of the tower (i.e. ∠ACB) from point C be θ .

Then,

the angle of elevation of the top of the tower (i.e. Z ADB) from point D

=(90° -θ)

Now, in ΔABC

tanθ=ABAC

⇒tanθ=AB5 ...................(i)

Also, in ΔABD,

cot(90°-θ)=ADAB

⇒ tanθ=20AB.................(ii)

From (i) and (ii), we get

AB5=20AB

⇒AB2=100

⇒ AB=100

∴ AB = 10 m

So, the height of the tower is 10 m.

Hydrochloric acid or muriatic acid is a colorless inorganic chemical system with the formula HCl. Hydrochloric acid has a distinctive pungent smell. It is classified as strongly acidic and can attack the skin over a wide composition range, since the hydrogen chloride completely dissociates in an aqueous solution
