Some important rules to be noted:

1) Alterando rule ;

If a/b = c/d , then a/c = b/d

2) Invertendo rule ;

If a/b = c/d , then b/a = d/c

3) Componendo rule ;

If a/b = c/d , then (a+b)/b = (c+d)/d

4) Dividendo rule ;

If a/b = c/d , then (a-b)/b = (c-d)/d

5) Componendo and Dividendo rule ;

If a/b=c/d ,then (a+b)/(a-b)=(c+d)/(c-d)

Note; If a,b,c and d are in GP , then;

b/a = c/b = d/c .
