1. Since ABCD is a square.

=) Angle ADC = Angle BCD = 90° ..1.

Since DCE is an equilateral triangle.

=) Angle CDE = Angle DCE = 60° ..2.

Add eq 1 and 2.

=) Angle ADE = Angle BCE = 90°+60°

= 150°.

2. In triangle ADE and triangle BCE:

AD = BC
Angle ADE = Angle BCE
DE = CE

By SAS rule both triangles are congruent.

3. Since triangle ADE is congruent to triangle BCE.

=) AE = BE by cpct.
