Decomposition reaction can also be a redox reaction . Here hydrogen ( + ive charge) and oxygen ( — ive charge ) are reduced and oxidized respectively during the reaction.

And, Cl + O2 - ClO2

Here Chlorine ( +5 oxidation state) is reduced to Chlorine ( -1 ) while oxide ( -2 ) is oxidized to oxygen atoms which combine to form O2 molecules.
