Given system of equations is,

0.2x + 0.3y = 1.3 ..............[1]

and, 0.4x + 0.5y = 2.3..............[2]

Multiplying equations [1] and [2] by 5 and 3 respectively,we obtain:

x + 1.5y = 6.5 ..............[3]

and, 1.2x + 1.5y = 6.9...............[4]

Subtracting [3] and [4],

(1.2x + 1.5y) - (x + 1.5y) = 6.9 - 6.5

→ 1.2x - x = 0.4

→0.2x=0.4

x=2

Putting x=2 in [1],

0.2x + 0.3y = 1.3

→0.4 + 0.3y = 1.3

→0.3y=0.9

y=3

Henceforth,(x,y) = (2,3)
