Solve this please(lesson: LINEAR EQUATIONS)

1.suresh has three boxes of different fruits.box 1 weighs 2 1/2 kg more than box 2 and box 3 weighs 10 1/4 kg more than box 2 .if the total weight of the tree boxes is 48 3/4 kg,find the weight of each box ?

2.alka's age is 5 years more than 4 times the age of suman. if alka's age is 45 years,find suman's age?

3. the difference of two supplementary angles is 72 degree.find the angles

4. the length of a rectangular field is twice its breadth.if the perimeter of the field is 150 m find the dimensions of its sides ?

Let the weight of box 2 be x kg.
weight of box1= x+(5x/2) kg
weight of box 3= x+(41x/4) kg
By the problem,
x+x+(5x/2)+x+(41x/4)=195/4
63x/4=195/4
x=195/63 kg= 65/21 kg ( first box)
second box= 455/42 kg
third box= 2925/84 kg

Let the age of suman be x yrs
By the problem Alka's age= 4x+5 yrs
According to the problem,
4x+5=45
4x=40
x=10
Age of suman is 10 yrs

Let one angle be x
the other angle is= (180-x)
By the problem,
x-(180-x)=72
2x-180=72
2x=252
x= 126
180-x=54

MagicalMaths: Let the breadth of the field be x metre. So the length of the field according to the problem is 2x metre. We know the perimeter of the field is 150m. So, we know that the formula for the perimeter of a rectangular field is 2(length+breadth). By the problem, 2(x+2x)=150,3x=75,x=25. So the breadth of the rectangular field is 25m while the length is 2x metre= 50m
