Given :

Four resistors are connected as shown in the figure.

Voltage of battery = 3V

To Find :

Equivalent resistance of the circuit and current flow in circuit.

Solution :

❒ In upper branch, two resistors each of 10Ω are connected in series. Their equivalent will be 20Ω.

Similarly equivalent resistance of lower branch will be also 20Ω.

Finally two resistors each of 20Ω come in parallel.

➙ 1/R = 1/20 + 1/20

➙ 1/R = 2/20

➙ R = 20/2

R = 10Ω

As per ohm's law, current flow in circuit is directly proportional to the applied potential difference.

➙ V = I × R

  • V denotes voltage
  • I denotes current
  • R denotes resistance

By substituting the given values;

➙ 3 = I × 10

➙ I = 3/10

I = 0.3 A
