To Find

μ₂₁ × μ₃₂ × μ₄₃ × μ₅₄  × μ₁₅

Concept

\sf \mu_{21}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_2}{\sf \mu_1}

μ₂₁ means μ₂ with respect to μ₁.

Solution

\sf \mu_{21}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_2}{\sf \mu_1}

\sf \mu_{32}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_3}{\sf \mu_2}

\sf \mu_{43}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_4}{\sf \mu_3}

\sf \mu_{54}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_5}{\sf\mu_4}

\sf \mu_{15}=\dfrac{\sf \mu_1}{\sf \mu_5}

So,

μ₂₁ × μ₃₂ × μ₄₃ × μ₅₄  × μ₁₅

\dfrac{\sf\mu_2}{\sf \mu_1} \times  \dfrac{\sf\mu_3}{\sf\mu_2} \times \dfrac{\sf\mu_4}{\sf\mu_3} \times \dfrac{\sf\mu_5}{\sf\mu_4} \times \dfrac{\sf\mu_1}{\sf\mu_5}

\dfrac{\sf \mu_1 \times \sf \mu_2 \times \sf \mu_3 \times \sf\mu_4 \times \sf \mu_5}{\sf \mu_1 \times \sf \mu_2 \times \sf \mu_3 \times \sf\mu_4 \times \sf \mu_5}

1

So, answer is 1 that is option ( 2 ).

Answer

μ₂₁ × μ₃₂ × μ₄₃ × μ₅₄  × μ₁₅ = 1

Learn More :-

Refractive Index ( μ )

It is the ratio between 'Speed of Light' and 'Velocity in the medium'.

\sf \mu=\dfrac{c}{v}

where

c = Speed of Light and

v = Velocity in the medium

μ tells us about the Velocity of light in the medium with respect to Velocity of Light in Vacuum.
