according to question, 2y - 4/x = 10    ----------(i)

                                      2y + 2/x = 4     ----------(ii)

substracting                 -      -        -                            

                                             - 6/x = 6

                                                   x = -1

2y + 2/x = 4

2y - 2 = 4

y = 3

y-x = 3 - (-1) = 3 + 1 = 4
