I will solve both the questions,

Question 1:

As you can see in the above image that I have uploaded,

Now point E can be above the line segment CB or below the line segment CB.

And we can clearly see that that the Area of ∆ DCE is one forth of the ∆ ABC.

So Area of ∆ ABC = 4 x Area of ∆ CDE.

Question 2:

as \: (x + 1) \: and \: (x + 2) \:
divides the given equation so it will satisfy the equation.

placing x = -1 and x = -2
we will get,

 - a + b - c + d = 0
and
 - 8a + 4b - 2c + d = 0
Solving this two we will get,

6a - 2b + d = 0
