shift 2/3 to r.h.s
5/2x = 7/12 - 2/3
by taking l.c.m of 12 and 3
5 = 7-8

2x 12
5/2x = 1/12
now by cross multiplication
5 [ 12] = 2x
60 = 2x
x = 60/2
x=30 answer
