Let us assume that 2-4√2 is rational
so 2-4√2= a/b where a and b are co-primes and b is not equal to 0
so,2-4√2=a/b
4√2=2-a/b
4√2 = 2b-a/b
√2 =2b-a/4b
for a and b are integers,
2b - a/4b is the form of p/q,
so it should be rational
that means √2 is also rational
but this contradicts the fact that √2 is irrational
so,2-4√2 is irrational
- If the process is correct and if you like it , then
- Mark it as a brainleist answer and thank me
