x+y=a
then x=a-y

x^3+y^3=(x+y)(x^2+y^2-xy)
=a[b-(a-y)y]
=a[b+y^2-ay]
=ab+ay^2-a^2y

x+y=a
(x+y) ^2=x^2+y^2+2xy
a^2=b+2xy
2xy=a^2-b
xy=(a^2-b)/2
(x+y)^3=x^3+y^3+3xy(x+y)
a^3=x^3+y^3+3(a^2-b)/2*a
x^3+y^3=(6a^3-3a^3+3ab)/2
x^3+y^3= 3/2 (2a^3+3ab)
