Answer:

LHS RHS

2/7. 4/5

LCM is 35

Question:

Ramesh solved 2 /7 part of an exercise while seema solved 4/5 of it. Who solved less?

Answer:

  • Ramesh solved the lesser part.

Given :

  • Part solved by Ramesh = 2/7

  • Part solved by Seema = 4/5

To find :

  • Who solved the lesser part =?

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that ;

Part solved by Ramesh = 2/7

Part solved by Seema = 4/5

Now,

We have to find that who solved the lesser part of exercise,

Or, we can say, we have to find smaller of 2/7 and 4/7

To find which number is greater or smaller,

Firstly we have to make their denominator equal.

For equaling denominator we have to take LCM of denominators.

Common denominator = LCM of 7 and 5

= 7 × 5

= 35

5 | 5 , 7

__|_______

7 | 1 , 7

__|_______

| 1 , 1

|

So,

2/7 = 2/7 × 5/5 = 10/35

4/5 = 4/5 × 7/7 = 28/35

Thus,

We can see that 10/35 < 28/35

i.e. 2/7 < 4/5

So, Ramesh solved the lesser part of the exercise.
