sub 1 and 2

x-y = 4

x = 4 +y

put It in equations 1

(4+y) y +y = 50

y^2 + 5y -50 = 0

on solving by quadratic formula we get

y = 5, -10

we take real and positive solutions

so y = 5

and x = 4+y = 9

our required result equation is

2x +y

2(9) + 5

= 23
