2x²-x-6 = 0

2x²-4x+3x-6 = 0

2x(x-2)-3(x-2) = 0

(2x-3)(x-2) = 0

2x-3 = 0 OR x-2 = 0

2x = 3 OR x = 2

x = 3/2 OR x = 2

Answer:

x =  - 2 \: and \:  \frac{3}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

2 {x}^{2} + x - 6 = 0 \\ 2 {x}^{2}  + 4x - 3x - 6 = 0 \\ 2x(x + 2) - 3(x + 2) = 0 \\ (2x - 3)(x + 2) = 0 \\ 2x - 3 = 0 \\ 2x = 3 \\ x =  \frac{3}{2}  \\ x + 2 = 0 \\ x =  - 2
