4 {x}^{2}  + 8 x = 0 \\  \\

Take x common

4x(x + 2) = 0

To find the root of the equation take

4x = 0 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \: x + 2 = 0 \\  \\ x = 0 \:  \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \:  \: x =  - 2

Hence x = 0 and -2
