ANSWER

The hour glasses are to be used alternatively to get a sun of 15 minutes.

Step By Step Explanation

-This is actually a puzzle maths ,so it needs a little trick to solve this.

-Here we have two hour glasses and both can be used for measuring the time of 15 minutes which is taken by the experiment to complete.

i)So at first before starting of the experiment start the both hours glasses together.

ii)Then when the hour glass of 7 minutes runs out, the bigger hour glass i.e of 11 minutes has 4 more minutes to end.(11-7 = 4 minutes)

iii)Now immediately turn around the hour glass of 11 minutes which is now working as an hour glass of 4 minutes and start the experiment along with it.

iv) As soon as it ends start the hour glass of 7 minutes again to complete the 15 minutes experiment.i.e 7 + 4 = 15.
