In rectangle, opposite sides are equal .

2x −y−18=x−2y+9

−y−18=x−2y+9and 3y=2x+6

rerranging both equations.

2x-x-y+2y=9+18

x+y=27 .......(1)

-2x+3y=6......(2)

multiplying 2 to equation (1)

2x+2y=54.....(3)

solving (2) & (3) simultaneously...

-2x+3y=6

2x+2y=54

__________

5y= 60

y=60/5

y= 12

substituting this value in eqn(1)

x+y=27

x+12=27

x=27-12

x= 15

thus length is 15 and breadth is 12

Area required= length × breadth

= 15×12

= 180 sq unit.
