Answer: x = -1 or x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{4}{x} = x - 3

4 = x(x - 3)

4 = x^2 - 3x

x^2 - 3x - 4 = 0

By Factorisation ,

x^2 - 4x + x - 4 = 0

x(x - 4) + 1(x - 4) = 0

(x + 1)(x - 4) = 0

Therefore , either x + 1 = 0 or x - 4 = 0

If x + 1 = 0 , then x = - 1

If x - 4 = 0 , then x = 4

Therefore x can be either -1 or 4
