Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

p(x) = x⁴ - 2x³ + 3x² - 9x + 3a - 7

Remainder = 19 [When divided by (x +1)]

Refer fig.1 for division process

By diving p(x) by x +1

We get R = 8 + 3a

To find : a

8 + 3a = 19

3a = 19 - 8 \\  \\ 3a = 11 \\  \\a  =  \frac{11}{3}

To find

Remainder when p(x)=x⁴ - 2x³ + 3x² - 9x + 3a - 7 divided by (x+2)

Refer fig.2 for division process

By diving p(x) by x +2

We get R = 55 + 3a

Put in the value of a

R = 55 + 3(11/3)

R = 55 +11

R = 66
