12. since x+a is a factor of the quadratic, that means x=-a is a root of the quadratic. So, putting x=-a in the quadratic will give us the value of a.
2x²+2ax+5x+10=0
2a²-2a²-5a+10=0
a=2

13. Here we have both the roots of the quadratic equation.
x=3/4 and x= -2
similar to the previous question,
ax²+bx-6=0

for x=3/4,
9a²/16+3b/4-6=0
9a²+12b-96=0

for x=-2
4a²-2b-6=0
2a²-b-3=0

solve these, you will get a = 4
and b = 29

14. the previous one is exactly the same. just approach this question in the same manner, you will definitely get correct answer.
