\sf{\huge{\underline{\red{Given :-}}}}

  • A plastic box 1.5 m long, 1.25 m wide and 65 cm deep is to be made. It is to be open at the top.

\sf{\huge{\underline{To\:Find :-}}}

  • The area of the sheet required for making the box.

  • The cost of sheet for it, if a sheet measuring 1m² costs Rs 20 .

\sf{\huge{\underline{\green{Solution :-}}}}

Case 1 :-

Area of Sheet Required for making box = Total Surface Area - Area of top

➝ Area of Sheet Required = 2(lb + bh + hl) - lb

➝ 2 ( 1.5 × 0.65 + 1.25 × 0.65 + 1.5 × 1.25) - 1.5 × 1.25

➝ 2 (0.975+0.8125+1.875) - 1.875

➝ 2 × 3.67 - 1.875

➝ 7.325 - 1.875

5.5 m²

Area of Sheet Required is 5.5 m².

Case 2 :-

The cost of sheet for it, if a sheet measuring 1m² costs Rs 20 .

➝ 5.45 × 20

Rs 109

The cost of sheet is Rs. 109.
