Answer:

Answer:Answer is 1.5 ev

Explanation:

Given , threshold wavelength , λ₀ = 380nm

wavelength of incident light , λ = 260nm

Using , einstein's relation of photoelectric effect

(KE)max = ev₀ = hv - hv₀ _______(i)

but, hv = E = 1237/λ(nm) ev (given)

and E₀ = 1237 / λ₀ (nm) ev

∴From (i) we get ,

(KE)max = E - E₀ (1237/λ - 1237/λ₀) ev

= 1237 ( 1/λ - 1/λ₀) ev (λ in nm) _______(iii)

By putting value of λ and λ₀ in eq (i) . (iii) , we get

(KE)max = 1237(1/260-1/380)ev

= 1237 × (380-260/380×260) ev

= (KE)max = 1.5ev
