Answer:

378cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

sum of diameter of 3 circle = length of square

hence length of square = 7*2*3 = 42cm

area of square= 42*42 = 1764cm^2

now area of 1 circle = \pir^2

area of 9 circle

=9*\pir^2

=9*(22/7)*7*7

=9*22*7

=1368cm^2

area of remaining portion = 1764-1368 = 378cm^2

Given,

Radius of each circle R = 7 cm

→ diameter of a circle b = 14 cm

  • [ Diameter=2×radius]

In given figure horizontal three circles touch each other.

☞ length of a side of a square = 3 × diameter of one circle =3 × 3 = 42cm

Now,

☞ the area of one circle = πr²= π(7)²

  • ☞ \frac{22}{7}   \times (7) ^{2} = 154 ^{2}

Area of circles = 9 × 154 = 1386cm²

Area of square ABCD = (side) ² = (42)²= 1764 cm²

Hence ,

Area of remaining portion of the hand kerchief = area of square - area of nine circle

☞ 1764 cm² - 1386 CM ² = 378 CM ²
