Given that A and B can do a piece of work in 6 days.

Work done by A and B in 1 - day = (1/6).

Given that B alone can do the same work in 9 days.

Work done by B in 1- day = (1/9).

So,

Work done by A in 1-day = (1/6) - (1/9)

= > (3 - 2)/18

= > 1/18.

Therefore, A can complete the work in 18 days.

Hope this helps!
