Let the roots be a,b

for a quadratic equation

ax²+ bx + c = 0

sum of roots a+b=k+1...............(1)

product of roots ab= 4k-2.....(2)

ATQ,

a+b=ab/2

from (1) and (2)

=>k+6=2k+1

=>k=5
