Remaining volume of petrol in the tank = 24000 - 7200 = 16800 litre

= 16.8 m^3

Now consider volume of tank = 16.8 m^3

16.8 = 3 × 4 × d

d = 16.8/12

d = 1.4 m

Initial depth = 2 m

final depth = 1.4 m

fall in level = 2 - 1.4 = 0.6 m
