This is the easiest question in this topic :)

Solution -

First observe the given circuit very carefully .

See the first attachment.

I have labelled the image.

Now , let me proceed step by step from the top .

Observe the resistors NQ and OQ carefully.

These resistors are in series .

So , the figure can be simplified as -

See the second attachment .

Now , we can say that -

The resistor NRO is parallel to the resistor NO .

This is in turn parallel to MP .

However , MP has zero resistance .

Thus , the current flows through MP only .

And no current flows through the entire MNQOP part .

Now , for the lower part , the same situation occurs.

No current flows through CEGH and HGFD.

The current directly flows through CD .

The final figure can be simplified as -

See the third attachment ...

Here , the resistors IL and IJKL are parallel .

Thus , the required resistance between I and L -

=> [ R × R ] / [ R + R ]

=> R / 2 .

Now , the resistances AI , IL and LB are In series .

Equivalent resistance -

=> R + R + ( R / 2 )

=> [ 5 R ] / [ 2 ] .

Hence , option C is the correct answer .

Additional Information -

For solving these types of questions always see how the current will flow first.

Thus will highly simplify the problem .
