Step-by-step explanation:

Manjula took 16/5km = 3.20km

Priya took 23/7km = 3.28km

So Priya moved more than Manjula by 3.28km - 3.20km = 0.08km = 80m

Given :

Manjula and Priya went for a morning walk.

Manjula took a round of \sf \frac{16}{5}Km and Priya took a round of\sf \frac{23}{7}km.

To Find :

Who walked the greater distance and how much.

Solution :

First we make the denominators common of the both fractions by multiplying numerator and denominators with the same digit. so that to find the greater fraction will be easier.

The distance walked by Manjula = \sf\frac{16}{5} Km

= \sf\frac{16\times 7}{5\times 7}

= \sf\frac{112}{35}

The distance walked by Priya = \sf \frac{23}{7} km.

= \sf \frac{23\times 5}{7\times 5}

= \sf\frac{115}{35}

Now we can see the distance traveled by Priya is greater.

The difference of the distance = \sf\frac{23}{7}-\frac{16}{5}

= \sf \frac{115-112}{35}

=\sf \frac{3}{35} km

Priya walked \sf \frac{3}{35} km more than Manjula
