To calculate median,

First arrange in accessing order,
1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5

Now cancel one number each from each side.

1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5

2, 2, 3, 3, 4 (as I said, we have cancelled first and last digit. Keep repeating this till only one number is left)

2, 3, 3

As you can see after cancelling first and last numbers respectively and repeating it, only one number is left which is 3.

Therefore, the median is 3.
