Let the numbers be X and Y
if X = -7 and Y = -8
sum = -7 + -8 = -15
product = -7 x -8 = 56.
Hope this helps you.☺☺☺

Let two numbers be 'x and 'y'.
According to the question,
x + y = -15
=> x = -15 - y. ... equation 1
and
xy = 56. ... equation 2
Putting the value of x in equation 2
=> (-15 - y)y = 56
=> -15y - y² = 56
=> y² + 15y + 56 = 0
=> y² + 7y + 8y + 56 = 0
=> y(y + 7) + 8(y + 7) = 0
=> (y + 7)(y + 8) = 0
=> y = -7 or -8
When y = -7 then,
=> x - 7 = - 15
=> x = -8
When y = -8 then,
=> x - 8 = -15
=> x = -7
According to the question,

=> y = -7 or -8
When y = -7 then,
=> x - 7 = - 15
=> x = -8
When y = -8 then,
=> x - 8 = -15
=> x = -7
